We are not A Home Services Marketplace

We are an electric vehicle charging marketplace. We are not another Angi.

We are purely focused on electrification

Yes, we are helping people connect with electricians to install EV charging at home because 80% of charging will take place at home but we have plans to do so much more in the vehicle electrification space. We want to address at home and on-the-go charging needs.

We do more than share your contact info with electricians

When you complete our form, electricians receive a lot of details, including photographs, about your project and can respond with a quote. This cuts out a lot of steps in between.

We connect you to the broader ecosystem

We have a finger on the pulse of electrification. We are compiling the most exciting products and services under one roof as well as bringing key stakeholders to one place. All to make it seamless to go electric.

Easy to use the request tool. I like how it puts me in the driver seat after I receive quotes to decide what to do next without any external pressure.

Frequently Asked Questions

The quote you will be provided is for the installation of a hardwired wall charging station (such as a Tesla charger or Wall Connector) or a new 240V (ideally, NEMA 14-30/14-50/6-50) outlet for a plug-in charger or charging cable which includes materials  (e.g. breakers) or labor costs.   It will also include permit application.

It will not include the cost of the charging station.

The electric vehicle charger charger or 240V outlet is not included in the installation service quote. The customer is expected to provide the equipment; however, Charging Center is able to make recommendations.

If any holes need to be made in the walls or ceilings during the installation of a charger, repairs are not included in the installation service. You will have to independently fix any holes that are made in the course of installing your EV equipment.

Finally, if trenching is required for laying any new cables, then you may need to find a specialized contractor to complete this task.

Charging Center, at this time, connects electric vehicle owners with installers of Level 2 charging equipment at residences, including wall chargers, such as Tesla Wall Connectors and Chargepoint Home Flex stations, or 240V outlets.

Level 3 or DC fast charging is not available or feasible for home installation.

In the near future, Charging Center will provide  Level 2 and DC fast charging installation services for fleets and businesses. Contact us at contact@chargingcenter.com with any inquiries.

The speed of charging largely depends on the car and the amperage of your charging station. On average, you can expect Level 2 charging to add anywhere between 30 to 50 miles of range every hour of charging. Read more about charging speeds here.

The cost to install a charging station depends on multiple factors such as the distance of the electric service panel from your charging spot.

Generally, you can expect to spend anywhere from $1000 to 5000 to install Level 2 charging. Read more here.

No, you will not be charged for getting three quotes; and you will not be required to leave a deposit of any amount.

Charging Center helps electrical contractors and electricians generate leads. At this time, we do not collect any fees from the electrical contractors and electricians. We simply connect people with electricians as efficiently as possible.

After you complete the simple form with all the installation project details, you will receive up to three quotes (and at least two quotes) from licensed and certified installers at the email address you have provided.

We do not share your contact information with a wide group of electricians. We do, however, share your contact information and project details with electricians whose quotes we provide to you.

You will receive up to three quotes. When you receive a quote, you will also receive the contact information of the company and you may reach out to them. The electricians may also reach out to you to discuss the project.

Yes, all the electricians are licensed and certified by reputable organizations, including Tesla. They have a lot of experience with EV charging station installations.

The request quote tool is currently available in California and New York; and soon, New Jersey. Charging Center will begin accepting inquiries in other states in the near future. Please subscribe to get notified about new service areas.

After the customer submits the quote inquiry form, Charging Center aims to provide all three quotes within 5 business days. Often times, we are able to present quotes sooner (within 48 hours).

After receiving the preliminary quotes, you will finalize a quote with one of the electricians (which may involve a site visit). After finalizing the quote, the installation will be scheduled based on both parties’ (Charging Center customer and electrical contractor) availabilities.

After installation, the electrician will begin the permit process. Permit timing can vary.

Because there are so many variables, it is difficult to provide an exact estimate of how long things will take but we anticipate the entire process (quote request to installation completion) will take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks to complete.
